Regency Picnic - Admission only
Join Jane Austen’s family and special guests for a Regency picnic at Dyers Barn, in the grounds of Chawton House.
Enjoy an afternoon of fun and entertainment with Jane Austen's Chawton family, and special guests. This year’s speakers include Zoe Wheddon, author of Jane Austen: Daddy's Girl: The Life and Influence of The Revd George Austen, who will be giving us a deeper insight into the relationship between Jane and her father, and Austen collector, historian and costumer, Hazel Mills, who will be talking about some of Jane’s most interesting and unexpected acquaintances. The winner of the Jane Austen Literacy Foundation Short Story Writing Competition 2024 will also be announced, and the winning story narrated.
£15 per ticket to enjoy homemade lemonade, enjoy the entertainment and bring your own picnic. Hosted by Caroline Jane Knight, all profits will be donated to the Jane Austen Literacy Foundation and Chawton House. Regency costume encouraged but not essential and we suggest you bring a picnic blanket. In case of poor weather, the picnic will be held in the barn.
If you are booking multiple events, you can book them all with Marie on 01420 85057 for a £4.00 transaction fee
