Die Maximilian Hering Group wurde im Herbst 2018 in Barcelona geboren, als der aus Mainz stammende Schlagzeuger Maximilian seine Lieblingsmusiker der Jazz Jam-Sessions zu einem gemeinsamen Gig einlud. Die besondere Besetzung - zwei Bläser, Kontrabass und Schlagzeug - entpuppte sich als äußerst gelungen und bot viel Freiheit für Improvisation innerhalb der Stücke sowie den Spielern Raum, ihre persönliche musikalische Stimme zum Ausdruck zu bringen. Nach dem erfolgreichen Live Debut führte die Band ihren gemeinsamen Weg fort, es folgten weitere Konzerte in Katalonien und Kompositionen von Monk, Ornette Coleman oder Wayne Shorter wichen Stück für Stück Eigenkompositionen des Bandgründers...
